Press Release – Stun Gun Use Results in Felony Domestic Battery


On Thursday, June 17, 2021, at approximately 6:54 p.m., deputies from the Ketchum Patrol Team of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic argument at a residence on Lewis Street in Ketchum, Idaho.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Wendy Renae Smith, age 28 of Ketchum, Idaho, used a stun gun upon the victim during an argument. Smith was arrested and charged with felony Domestic Battery, I.C. 18-918.

On Friday, June 18, 2021, Smith was arraigned in Blaine County Magistrate Court and subsequently released on a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 29, 2021.
